MiraBan Post Production Film Fund Terms and Conditions

The MiraBan Post Production Film Fund was created to support independent filmmakers who require professional post-production assistance to complete their films and prepare them for exhibition, festival circulation, and distribution.

We understand that many strong projects reach a critical stage where additional technical expertise and finishing resources can make the difference between an unfinished film and a successful release.

What the Fund Includes

Selected projects will receive a post-production support package valued at up to £5,000, which may include:

  • Professional post-production consultation

  • Picture finishing support

  • Colour grading services

  • Sound post-production assistance

  • DCP creation and delivery support

  • Access to experienced creative and technical collaborators throughout the finishing process

Recipients will also receive

  • Festival promotion and distribution strategy resources

  • Guidance on preparing the film for festival submissions and release

  • An official theatrical screening opportunity in London through MiraBan programming

Eligibility

The fund is open to independent filmmakers worldwide.

Projects may be at the development, pre-production, production, or post-production stage, provided there is a clear need for professional finishing support.

Eligible Formats

  • Narrative short films

  • Documentary short films

  • Narrative feature films

  • Documentary feature films

Not Eligible

  • Music videos

  • Commercial advertising projects

  • Corporate content

  • Student exercises or classroom assignments

How to Apply

Applicants should submit:

  • A brief project synopsis

  • Information about the current stage of production

  • Details of the post-production support required

  • Any available visual materials, including trailers, teasers, rough cuts, or work-in-progress footage

Projects will be assessed on:

  • Creative quality and originality

  • Strength of storytelling

  • Feasibility of completion

  • Potential audience and festival appeal

  • Demonstrated need for post-production support

6. Conditions of the Award

  • The recipient of the MiraBan Post Production Film Fund award agrees to the following obligations

6.1 Credits & Acknowledgement

  • The winning film must include the credit:
    “Funded by MiraBan” along with the MiraBan logo

  • Associate Producer credit is required for short films or micro-budget projects (under £10,000)

  • For higher-budget projects, MiraBan requests an "Additional Funded By MiraBan" credit

6.2 Right to Promotion

  • MiraBan reserves the right to promote the selected project on its website, social media, and partner platforms.

  • Award recipients may be asked to participate in press, interviews, or social content related to the MiraBan Fund.

6.3 Delivery & Follow-Up

  • The filmmaker agrees to update MiraBan on the progress of the project at two key stages:

    1. 5 months post-award, and

    2. Upon completion or premiere.

  • A final digital screener must be delivered to MiraBan upon project completion for archival and internal use.

7. Use of Funds

The MiraBan Post Production Film Fund is provided in the form of in-kind post-production services and professional support rather than direct cash funding.

The support package, valued at up to £5,000, may be applied toward services including, but not limited to:

  • Post-production consultation and supervision

  • Picture editing support

  • Colour grading

  • Sound editing, mixing, and mastering

  • DCP creation and delivery

  • Technical quality control and finishing

  • Festival delivery preparation

  • Access to approved creative and technical collaborators

The specific services awarded will be determined by MiraBan in consultation with the selected filmmaker based on the project's needs, stage of production, budget, and available resources.

The awarded support is non-transferable, cannot be exchanged for cash, and must be used solely for the funded project. Any unused portion of the support package has no cash value and may not be reassigned to another project without the prior written consent of MiraBan.

The Filmmaker agrees to provide:

  • A brief summary report detailing how the funds were used, including relevant dates and deliverables

  • A completed Funding Confirmation Form, which will include the payee's details

MiraBan reserves the right to request further clarification or additional documentation prior to disbursement.

8. Withdrawal or Forfeiture

To ensure fairness and transparency, MiraBan reserves the right to withdraw the award or remove a recipient from the Pitch Fund+ initiative under the following circumstances:

  • The filmmaker breaches any part of these Terms & Conditions, or provides inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading information in their application or subsequent communications

  • The recipient refuses to acknowledge MiraBan with the agreed-upon “Funded by MiraBan” credit and Associate Producer title in the final film, IMDb listing, and related materials

  • MiraBan will make every effort to communicate with the recipient before taking such action and will review each case on an individual basis.

9. Legal & Rights

  • All applicants must have the rights to submit the project and represent all contributing parties involved.

  • MiraBan claims no ownership over submitted or funded projects but reserves the right to reference them in promotional activities.
