MiraBan Film Pitch Fund+ Terms & Conditions
1. Eligibility
The Fund is open to filmmakers globally aged 18 and above.
Projects must be narrative, documentary, or experimental films in short or feature-length formats.
Applicants must be the producer, director, or writer of the submitted project.
Projects can be in development, production, or post-production at the time of application.
2. Submission Requirements
The application is simple: just complete checkout and submit one link to either a written film treatment (500 words for short films, 1500 words for feature films), or a video or audio pitch (up to 2 mins in length)
Optional:
Sizzle reel or up to 1 minute of rushes, moodboard, budget breakdown, or visuals.
Gap Funding:
If filming has started, you are encouraged to include up to 2 minutes of rushes or a scene cut.
3. Submission Fees & Deadlines
£20 – Early Deadline: 1st August 2025
£25 – Regular Deadline: 1st October 2025
£35 – Final Deadline: 7th December 2025
All submission fees are final and non-refundable.
Multi-Project Discount
Applicants or creative collaborators (writer, director, or producer) submitting a second project receive 50% off the second submission.
Must mention each other’s names during submission.
One discounted additional submission per applicant or pair.
4. Finalist Selection & Pitching Event
If selected as a finalist, you will be required to submit your film script, and/or roughly assembly and a Pitch Deck that visually communicates your project’s vision. This should be shared as a PDF (created in PowerPoint or a similar tool), with a preference for visuals over text.
Pitch Deck Guidelines:
Short films: Up to 5 slides
Feature films: Up to 8 slides
Finalists will present their pitches in front of a live audience during the MiraBan UK Film Awards 2025 at Ealing Picturehouse Cinema.
Date: December 13, 2025
Audience vote: Will contribute to the final jury decision
Festival Director and host: Will be in attendance
If you’re unable to attend in person, you must submit a video pitch, which will be screened for the live audience.
Finalists will receive complimentary access to the MiraBan UK Film Awards on December 13–14, 2025.
5. Winner Announcement
The winner will receive a £500 cash award, announced during the Festival Gala & Awards Ceremony on 14th December 2025.
6. Conditions of the Award
The recipient of the MiraBan Film Pitch Fund+ award agrees to the following obligations:
6.1 Credits & Acknowledgement
The winning film must include the credit:
“Funded by MiraBan” along with the MiraBan logoAssociate Producer credit is required for short films or micro-budget projects (under £10,000)
For higher-budget projects, MiraBan requests an "Additional Funded By MiraBan" credit
6.2 Right to Promotion
MiraBan reserves the right to promote the selected project on its website, social media, and partner platforms.
Award recipients may be asked to participate in press, interviews, or social content related to the MiraBan UK Film Awards or Pitch Fund+.
6.3 Delivery & Follow-Up
The filmmaker agrees to update MiraBan on the progress of the project at two key stages:
5 months post-award, and
Upon completion or premiere.
A final digital screener must be delivered to MiraBan upon project completion for archival and internal use.
7. Use of Funds
The £500 award may be used exclusively for development, production, or post-production costs related to the proposed project. The winner of the Pitch Fund will be required to:
A brief summary report detailing how the funds were used, including relevant dates and deliverables
A completed Funding Confirmation Form, which will include the payee's details
Payment will be made via bank transfer or PayPal within 30 working days of final approval by MiraBan.
MiraBan reserves the right to request further clarification or additional documentation prior to disbursement.
8. Withdrawal or Forfeiture
To ensure fairness and transparency, MiraBan reserves the right to withdraw the award or remove a recipient from the Pitch Fund+ initiative under the following circumstances:
The filmmaker breaches any part of these Terms & Conditions, or provides inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading information in their application or subsequent communications
The recipient refuses to acknowledge MiraBan with the agreed-upon “Funded by MiraBan” credit and Associate Producer title in the final film, IMDb listing, and related materials
MiraBan will make every effort to communicate with the recipient before taking such action and will review each case on an individual basis.
9. Legal & Rights
All applicants must have the rights to submit the project and represent all contributing parties involved.
MiraBan claims no ownership over submitted or funded projects but reserves the right to reference them in promotional activities.
